Frequently asked questions

Which items are listed in the Roxette & related artists Discography?
The discography contains all official releases (commercial and promotional releases) which have their music.

I have an tem in my collection I can’t find on this site.
If you have an item that is not on this discography you can send info and pictures from your account using '
Add release' form. You can also send corrections or additions using 'Help Us' form, but this discography contains only official releases, so do not send information about bootlegs records.
Send your pictures in JPEG format, 200-300 dpi resolution and 500*500 or more pixels dimension preferably.

Why do you protect images with a watermark logo?
All pictures are protected against bootlegging.

What is a CD-R acetate?
These CDs are not factory pressed, but burned, much in the same way as you would write to a CD using a CD writer. Because of this, they can come in a variety of colours and do not require any special CD player to use.
These are generally produced in very limited quantities.

What is a matrix number (signature, laser line)?
The matrix number (signature, laser line)of a CD, DVD or piece of vinyl is a series of characters that is located on the inner ring. On a CD or DVD it can sometimes only be seen by holding the disc up to light. The matrix number of a release can be very useful for identifying specific editions or pressings.

What does the term "B-side" mean?
Before music was featured on compact disc, singles where released on vinyl. To encourage people to purchase these vinyl singles, the main song from the album was pressed on side A, and on side B a song which was not always from the album. These songs were called "B-side” songs. So publishing songs which are not part of the album on a single is still practiced.

How are the price guide calculated?
we decided that the price quide should reflect only how rare a specific item is from Sweden perspective, without consideration of the actual value on the international collector’s market.

Also we want introduce the (forthcoming) system where is rarity ratings are calculated using added items to 4 types user’s lists. Users can create lists of items they have or want by adding them in MyRoxCollection section. You can read more about this in the Read Me area.

If you disagree with any ratings, why not start adding items in your collection? You might see some changes!

Notations

Before you look through the discography part of the site, please read the following description of what the included information stands for:

Date of release

The day the item was released in Sweden. If the item was not released in Sweden we have included the international release date.

The dates mentioned on this website are displayed in this format: MM/DD/YYYY

Country

Each record, CD or cassette is listed after the country it was made in and not after the country it was released in. For example, a CD could be made in The Netherlands and be the official release in many countries but would only be presented as a Dutch CD.

Items made in E.E.C. are listed as follows:

  • if the item has GEMA printed on the record, CD or cassette it was meant for the German market and is therefore defined as a German release.
  • if the item has STEMRA printed on the record, CD or cassette it was meant for the Dutch and European markets and is therefore defined as a Dutch release.
  • if the item has both GEMA and STEMRA printed on the record, CD or cassette it was meant to be sold throughout Europe and it is therefore defined as a Dutch release.

Title

This column includes the name of the album or the name of the first song on the single.

Price guide

This column includes a rating of how rare the items are and it is not a regular price guide because of the following reasons:

·        the exchange rate of the currencies around the world change from day to day and it is therefore impossible to give an exact value.

·        an item which is quite easy to find in one country is often harder to find in another and therefore the prices may be very different.

·        the popularity of Roxette varies from country to country and from time to time and because of this the price will fluctuate.

Therefore, we decided that the price quide should reflect only how rare a specific item is from Sweden perspective, without consideration of the actual value on the international collector’s market. Today is easier to find items from other parts of the world since many fans have their own home pages on the Internet which enables people to get in touch with each other. Also, there are several mail order companies and auction sites on the Internet where you can buy all kinds of Roxette & related material.

Items categorized under the same rating do not necessarily sell for the same price on the collector's market, it only means that they are equally as hard (or easy) to find.

If an item has a rating of 1* it is easily available but can no longer be bought new in regular record shops. If an item has a rating of 5***** it is quite hard (but not impossible) to find. If an item has a rating of 10********** means that only one copy exists.
