Description:
Heartland was a 6-track mini album released in the U.S.A. by Gyllene Tider under the name Roxette. The songs were taken from their album The Heartland Café which was released in Sweden earlier the same year.
Because of Gyllene Tider's popularity in Sweden EMI decided to import copies of the mini album during fall of 1984. Since numerous copies of this album was sold in Swedish record shops it is easier to find second hand copies of the mini album in Sweden than in North America.
The name of the group was changed to Roxette as it was seen as a more international name and this was in fact the first time that Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson appeared together on a record under the name Roxette.
The name Gyllene was considered for a while and it was supposed to be pronounced "Djillin" in English. Per Gessle's comment was: "If a band can be named Duran Duran then why not Gyllene?"
There are two different pressings of this mini album and the only difference between them is the engravement on the run-off groove:
First edition: Side 1 MLP-1-15018 F-1 Mastered by Capitol Wally
Side 2 MLP-2-15018 F-2 Mastered by Capitol Wally
Second edition: Side 1 MLP-1-15018 F-4 Mastered by Capitol Wally
Side 2 MLP-2-15018 F-4 Mastered by Capitol Wally
Produced by Lars-Göran "Lasse" Lindbom
